Oak is a fantastic and unrivalled building material. It is acknowledged for its strength, durability and aesthetic beauty. But oak is not only beautiful, it is also the perfect choice as a “clean and green” building material, as all our oak timber comes from sustainable woodlands where at least two new trees are planted for every one that is felled.

Oak is an exceptional material in many ways. It can withstand any sort of extreme weather conditions and, rather than deteriorate, it actually gets better with age. Oak beams are just as strong and dependable as steel joists but are more practical, more durable and they look a great deal more beautiful!

An oak frame building is much lighter than a standard masonry building and can be fabricated at the factory and then erected in a matter of days so there is minimal disturbance to the surrounding area. Buildings that are constructed from natural resources have many attractions, especially being more aesthetically pleasing, but they can also be a much cheaper, cleaner and practical option for discerning home owners.

We specialise in the design and construction of Timber frame buildings including offices, garages, barns, garden rooms, conservatories etc.

The method that we use to create a timber frame building has not changed in several hundred years.  The joists are formed by hand, using traditional techniques and then tightly secured, using kiln dried oak pegs so each portion of the frame can be lifted into place by hand or with the aid of lifting equipment.  Using these traditional wood working skills we can create a wide range of oak strucutres, with a variety of styles and sizes, all manufactured with mortise and tenon joints which show the care and attention that is applied to each project.

All oak buildings are guaranteed for 10 years and are also virtually maintenance free
